Position Summary:

If you have a PhD and would like to collaborate with faculty and researchers at the Alaska Center for Energy and Power (ACEP), please consider applying to the Temporary Faculty pool. ACEP works with Alaskan communities and industries as leaders establishing the energy systems of the future. Successful acceptance into the adjunct pool does not guarantee an offer of a contract.

Duties:

100Duties will vary based on the research project assigned. Duties may include: Perform research duties under the direction or supervision of a faculty member. Work independently with general or minimal instructions. Interpret and analyze data. Write and edit materials for publication and presentation. The research areas include, but are not limited to: civil engineering, computer engineering, electrical engineering, environmental engineering, geological engineering, energy, and technology.Essential

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
Sufficient relevant experience to contribute significantly to a specific project.

Experience with the use of computers and other appropriate equipment to conduct the research proposed.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Preferred Experience & Education:
Expertise and experience relevant to research field.

Required Experience & Education:

PhD in a relevant discipline. Successful applicants often have experience bringing in research funding and typically provide their own research grants.

2-3 years of relevant work.



Salary Information:

This is a temporary faculty position. New hires will be offered a starting salary based on education and experience.



Special Instructions to Applicants:

This position will be physically located at the UAF campus in Fairbanks, Alaska. The successful finalist will be expected to report to duty at the UAF office on the first day of employment.
