Job Description

We are actively hiring for a Animal Technician in Madison, WI. This role will require working with animals in a laboratory setting.

Description:

A great opportunity for anyone looking to start or grow their career in a lab! As a Study Technician Trainee you will apply your scientific curiosity in researching the effectiveness, safety and toxicity of drugs in early development research studies.

Duties:

• Learns to collect and document pertinent data including animal observations, and test material administration in compliance with appropriate protocols, SOP's, GLP's and regulatory agency guidelines.
• Reviews own data and identifies potential problems.
• Maintains high standards of animal room husbandry and cleanliness
• May learn to clean and sanitize various types of equipment
• Assists with technical functions in accordance with training
• Reports all animal care concerns and become involved in the resolution and appropriate corrective action, as necessary

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent + at least 1 year of animal handling or work with animals
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
• Must be able to perform work with attention to detail within a performance based environment

Schedule and Pay:

• Monday - Friday, and every 3rd weekend
• 6AM - 4PM, must be willing to work some overtime
• $18-23/hr depending on experience
• Will work half of US Holidays
