How You’ll Make an Impact
The specific responsibilities assigned to the position (but not limited to) are:
- Coordinate technical internal interfaces between Econopac (GT), Steam Turbine, Generator, Silyzer (Electrolyzer) equipment and Plant Engineering and external interfaces or Architect Engineers (A/E) and drive plant piping designs.
- Solve engineering problems as they relate to piping design, coordinate technical interfaces, and ensure they are clearly defined.
- Develop, maintain, and issue design specifications and drawings related to plant layout and piping.
- Review internal and external project documents and ensure proper definition and understanding of the requirements.
- Implement the plant layout / piping scope in accordance with project requirements and the project schedule.
- Review A/E designs and ensure work is consistent with project specific requirements.
- Develop detailed BoQ’s for piping in the bid phase and take full responsibility for meeting piping critical metrics.
- Develop technical RFQ packages for piping to solicit bids from suppliers and perform bid evaluations.
- Take full ownership of the piping package during project execution. Successful candidate will be responsible for expediting suppliers on hardware and software, review, and approval of supplier documentation, performing quality control (FAT) at the supplier’s facility and release packages for shipment.
- Provide field support for the piping scope during construction and commissioning.
- Follow established change control processes to evaluate the impacts of proposed design changes and provide recommendations to the project team.
- Visit operating power plants to collect piping and plant layout data related to implementation of proposed plant improvements or upgrades and work closely with the SEI Service organization to design and implement the required changes.
- Work with the 3D Plant Design team and review piping model updates received from the A/E on a regular basis to identify potential issues and resolve them.
