Current Need

McKesson’s Pharmaceutical Solutions and Services (PSaS) Decision Intelligence (DI) team is looking for a Director, Decision Intelligence to support strategic data initiatives.

The DI team focuses on facilitating data driven change and creating business value through data and advanced analytics. He/she will be responsible to help develop and deploy end-to-end customer solutions that support, augment and automate business decisions by linking data with decisions and outcomes. The successful candidate will have the perfect blend of business acumen, in depth knowledge of data science and AI technologies along with strong leadership skills to deliver innovative digital solutions that enables effective decision making. He/she will lead the partnership with PSaS business leaders, Chief Data & Digital Office (CDDO) leaders and Information Technology partners to deliver solutions on time and within budget.

Job Description
  • Accountable for successful delivery of innovative DI solutions by working with the cross-functional teams
  • Identify and drive execution of all the key activities/product roadmap needed to implement the use cases (from requirements to solution adoption) by working with cross functional teams and create transparency on scope, timelines, key milestones
  • Lead estimation of the cost to deliver the solution and the quantifiable benefits it is creating for the business
  • Focus on customer centricity to guide matrixed teams through the design and development of solutions by iterative Agile approach
  • Collaborate with Project Manager or Scrum Master to make sure that right resources are engaged to provide the solution and roadblocks that impede the progress are addressed
  • Plan, review, and refine the scope of the Agile sprints to align with overall use case vision and communicate to leadership teams on key releases, status, outcomes and value created
  • Proactively identify and manage risk to timelines and overall deliverables
  • Work with business data analysts to capture requirements from business users as well as by analyzing raw data from multiple sources using advanced analytical techniques and algorithms
  • Supports the development and definition of KPIs that assist business leaders in managing the business outcome
  • Ensures that DI solutions have sound technical architecture and make use of appropriate technologies
  • Leads and manages the business identification, selection and business case preparation for new tools or resources required to continue to advance the delivery of advanced analytics, visualization, reporting, scorecard, and data usage
  • Be a champion for the DI solutions created by influencing its adoption and activation across relevant business areas

Minimum Requirements

Typically requires 12+ years of professional experience and 4+ years of management experience

Critical Skills
  • 10+ years of data and analytics experience
  • Understanding of AI/ML machine learning and predictive modeling techniques
  • Deep knowledge of business analytics and associated practices relevant to the healthcare/pharmaceutical/biotech/supply chain/finance industries
  • Familiarity with a data visualization tool: e.g. Tableau, Power BI
  • Project Management skills. Experience working in Agile framework is a must
  • Strong experience with SQL, data extraction methodologies, relational and dimensional databases methods
  • Experience with cloud computing data platforms: e.g. Azure, AWS
  • Experience working with Data lake and/or Data Mesh initiatives
  • Expertise in applying data analysis, data science, BI reporting and other analytics frameworks and techniques to influence business decisions

  • Proven track record of solving complex problems, thinking creatively, and using data to tell a story to influence senior level stakeholders.

  • Ability to work in a matrix environment and build partnership with both internal and external stakeholders

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, applied mathematics, machine learning, or a related data centric-technical field; or equivalent experience

Master’s degree preferred

This is determined by several factors, including performance, experience and skills, equity, regular job market evaluations, and geographical markets. In addition to base pay, other compensation, such as an annual bonus or long-term incentive opportunities may be offered.

Our Base Pay Range for this position

$135,100 - $225,100
