Hours: 7:00 am- 3:00 pm

*** No Weekends and a $2,000 Signing bonus to be paid out over the first year***

Summary: This position is not just about providing personal cares! The PCA or CNA will be responsible for assisting individuals in helping people have a good time while they are learning something new and having fun in a safe and caring environment. This position also includes assisting some people with medications, use of the restroom, and feeding assistance as needed! This position is for someone who wants to help make a persons day brighter through fun educational and leisure type activities. Do you like creating something on the computer, or watching a baking show and then actually making that dish? Do you do any crafts, drawing, like to sing or play cards? Ensuring the health, safety, and protection rights of each person served is very important. Responsibilities:

  • Provide personal care assistance for developmentally disabled adults including feeding and toileting, provision of emergency assistance as appropriate.
  • Identify and adapt to each consumer’s individual disability, ability and special medical concern as stated on consumer treatment sheets
  • Responsible for daily charting and administration of oral medications.
  • Provides an atmosphere that is welcoming, understanding, communicative and supportive.
  • Practices proper positioning, lifting and transfer techniques during all procedures.
  • Safely uses appropriate adaptive equipment (transfer belts, sliding board, Hoyer lift, etc.) when required or as needed for safety / common sense.
  • Maintain compliance with program regulations
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements:

  • High school diploma/GED and one year of experience working with people with disabilities in a vocational or residential setting preferred. Current CNA certificate preferred or we will pay for training to assist in obtaining a CNA Certification.
  • Must be able to pass DHS background screening.
  • CPR, first aid and med admin certificates preferred.
  • Ability to lift, push/pull a minimum of 50 pounds on a regular basis. Use proper lifting techniques including the use of transfer belt and Hoyer lift, proper body mechanics and universal precautions.
  • Must have knowledge and understanding of different disabling conditions (physical disabilities)
  • Good written and verbal skills.
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality is a must.
