Good CAD experience of 8+ yrs working with CATIA V5 or V6.

Prior work experience with Honda or familiarity with Honda BIW design guidelines/methodology will be an added advantage.

Broad understanding of BIW (Body-in-white) components like body side panels, roof, dash, fender, reinforcements/stiffeners etc..

Ability to work with A-class surfaces and build design or update BIW components.

Capable of designing stamped / extruded parts by introducing features like beads, blends, swages, cut-outs etc ..wherever applicable.

Good knowledge of stamping/extrusion (manufacturing process) of the BIW components.

Should be capable of performing quick design modifications based on customer requirements and carry out design reviews when needed.

Good Knowledge of design environment and proximity parts and check for part interference for review.

Good knowledge of gap & flush while designing BIW components together with fastening (spot/arc welding) techniques for assembly of parts.

Good understanding of DFMA (Design for manufacturing & assembly) of BIW components.

Follow customer specified design guidelines/standards and assist offshore team meet delivery milestones as per customer program schedules.

Expertise in recommending cost-effective design modifications/improvements that support testing and mass production.

Capable of preparing 2-D drawing with GD & T from 3-D models and finalize BoM (Bill of Materials).

Should be capable of coordinating with the offshore team by liaising with the customer/supplier, whenever required.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.
