Responsibilities:
THE ROLE:
We are looking for an adaptive, self-motivative design engineer to join our growing team. As a key contributor, you will be part of a leading team to drive and improve AMD's abilities to deliver the highest quality, industry-leading technologies to market. The Silicon Design Engineering team furthers and encourages continuous technical innovation to showcase successes as well as facilitate continuous career development.

THE PERSON:
You have a passion for modern, complex processor architecture, digital design, and RTL design in general. You are a team player who has excellent communication skills and experience collaborating with other engineers located in different sites/timezones. You have strong analytical and problem-solving skills and are willing to learn and ready to take on problems.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Own major portions of the design and implementation of blocks to meet functional, timing, area and power requirements
  • Guide and review verification for these blocks
  • Design and implement logic functions that enable efficient test and debug
  • Participate in silicon bring-up for features owned
  • Implement automation to increase design team efficiency

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
  • Experience in Designing RTL block for an SOC
  • Experience in integrating ASIC IP into an SOC
  • Experience writing timing constraints and exceptions in Tcl or SDC syntax
  • Experience with automation using scripting techniques such as PERL, Python or Tcl
  • Experience running standard quality checks such as LINT and CDC
  • Experience with synthesis, static timing analysis & optimizations
  • Ability to develop clear and concise engineering documentation
  • Ability to lead others, junior engineers or cross functional teams, through complex activities
  • Understanding of Arm architecture and APB, AXI, CHI protocols
  • Understanding of coherent mesh network (CMN) designs
  • Understanding of design for security best practices
  • Understanding of design for functional safety best practices
  • Experience designing with multiple power domains including writing UPF

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
  • Bachelors or Masters degree in computer engineering/Electrical Engineering
