Girl Scouts of Alaska offers a robust benefits package with PTO, Medical, Dental, Vision, LTD and Life Insurance, and a 403(b) with employer match. Pay for our Database and Customer Service Specialist starts at $23.50 per hour. This position will be required to work in-person at our Anchorage Council offices. Remote work is not available at this time.


The Database Specialist oversees and administers key database systems in the council. They are responsible for data entry, data quality, reconciliation and system support. The specialist will serve as the database trainer for volunteers, parents and council staff.

You Need:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong data entry skills, prior database experience preferred.
  • Strong communication skills in written, verbal, and virtual delivery; experience developing and implementing action plans to meet/exceed deliverables; and experience working collaboratively to reach collective goals.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, and prioritize workload, while managing multiple deadlines.
  • Strong keyboarding skills with knowledge of MS Office Suite, spreadsheets, and database management.
  • Experience with a customer relationship management (CRM) system (Salesforce preferred).
  • Demonstrated ability to handle high-volume tasks with accuracy.
  • To satisfactorily pass a annual background check.
  • To have reliable transportation to and from work. Our offices are not easily accessible by the public transportation system.

You Will:

  • Quickly and effectively solve customer problems.
  • Triage customer communications and forward when appropriate.
  • Tackle problems by using a logical, systematic, sequential approach.
  • Contribute to the overall success of the organization.
  • Sit at a desk and work on a computer and talk on the phone for long periods of time.
  • Use a variety of computer software to include Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Power Point, Word, and Excel), Salesforce and Looker platforms.
  • Manually operate office equipment.
  • Lift and carry at least 35 lbs.
