Position Summary

This position is responsible for the progression of all technical aspects of the Division’s Office of Crime Scene Response (OCSR). This would incorporate the documented execution of internal and external training, adhering to quality standards, and practices as outlined in the Division manuals and the development, maintenance, coordination, and participation in the OCSR.
Salary Information

The Crime Scene Response Specialist-Technical Unit Leader position is in pay schedule 15 and pay range 03. The starting salary is between $35.00 to $41.78 per hour (approximately $72,800 to $86,902 annually) plus excellent benefits. A 12-month probationary period may be required. Pay for current or former state employees will follow the provisions found in the State of Wisconsin Compensation Plan.

Qualifications

A minimally qualified candidate will have a combination of experience, education, and/or training in: Processing major crime scenes. Developing, providing and/or administering training sessions for professionals, including individuals in forensic science disciplines. Adhering to and promoting quality assurance/quality control procedures within work assignments.
Well-qualified applicants will have met all of the minimally qualified criterion and one or more of the following: Experience working within an ISO accredited crime laboratory. Experience performing casework within a forensic science discipline other than crime scene response. Experience with developing and maintaining policies/procedures that adhere to industry quality standards.
