Courier - Full Time

Courier Full Time, Hourly, All Shifts

Job Summary:

• Under the supervision of the Supervisor, Support Services, is responsible for the safe pickup and delivery of specimens, pharmacy items, and other materials to and from various sites including the laboratories within the network, client offices, etc.

Minimal Acceptable Job Qualifications

Licensure:

• Current Indiana Drivers License
• Must meet present hospital insurance carrier’s minimum requirements acceptable under the insurability guidelines related to driving hospital owned vehicles.

Experience:

• None Required

Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent.

Registration/Certification:

• None Required

Job Knowledge & Skills:

• Demonstrates use of the English language both verbal and written.
• Demonstrates general working knowledge of a vehicle and all traffic laws required to pick up and deliver hospital related items, as required.
• Requires a general understanding of the health care environment and the role of the laboratory.
• Requires strong organizational skills in order to assure the appropriate pick up and delivery of courier items, consistent with established departmental guidelines.
• Demonstrates well developed interpersonal and communication skills necessary to interact effectively with all internal and external unit customers as needed.
