Job Summary

The Graduate Recruitment Coordinator is responsible for outbound recruitment and on campus recruitment efforts for graduate recruitment. This position will work with the Assistant Director of Graduate Recruitment and the individual colleges on campus to increase our reach to the local area, Dallas and Houston for prospective students.

This position will collaborate with the Assistant Director of Graduate Recruitment and the Executive Director of University Recruitment to foster relationships with local feeder institutions and businesses.

This position will work within the Customer Relations Management software to look at the funnel directly with prospect, inquiry and applicant students.

This position holds the following major responsibilities: develop and generate student leads (including face to face, phone, e-communications, and on and off-campus events) and provide counseling on program attributes.

The Graduate Recruitment Coordinator will work together to establish a presence in the community and help cultivate leads for our forty-seven graduate programs.


Major Responsibilities/Duties/Critical Tasks

  • Serve as a contact for prospective, current, and alumni communities, answering all inquiries, including general academic and procedural information.
  • Outbound recruitment up to 4-6 weeks in the recruitment cycle to colleges, fairs, and businesses.
  • Participate in student recruitment activities, including traveling to recruitment events.
  • Maintain listservs for current undergraduate students as prospective graduate students.
  • Promote all graduate programs and outreach and recruitment efforts for the Patriot Admit initiatives.
  • Support for prospective student and admitted student campus visit events.
  • Excellent Public speaking skills for one on one and large group events.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Minimum Required Education/Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree earned.
  • In pursuit of a Master’s degree.
  • One (1) or more years of combined experience in post-secondary and/or secondary (K-12) admissions/enrollment work.

  • Ability to successfully interact with students, faculty and staff.
  • High attention to detail, excellent organizational and leadership skills and ability to organize teams to complete tasks.
  • Highly adaptable to changing circumstances.
  • Knowledge of policies and procedures related to university recruitment.
  • Demonstrated computer literacy and use of PC's, word processing packages, CRM and Student Information Systems experience.


Other Information

  • Must have reliable vehicle.
  • Position is required to work two Saturdays per semester for Preview Day and all Commencement ceremonies as well as other weekend/evening events as assigned.

The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
