UCSF Dyslexia Center is looking for energetic, committed colleagues to support the Multitudes project. Multitudes is a new digital platform, free for all California public schools, that connects neuroscience research at the University of California with the needs of California public school students. The current phase of the project focuses on the early identification of Kindergarten and First Grade students who may face challenges learning to read.
Multitudes Development and Implementation Analysts (hereafter “DIAs”) will be the front line of engagement as Multitudes continues its research and development phase and begins its implementation phase. DIAs will be our representatives in the school learning to demonstrate confidence and calm to inspire trust in our school partners. They will provide essential support to other team members and report frontline observations to senior Project Policy Analysts and assist in analyzing challenges. DIAs will resolve minor problems in the field, report on events, and gather data and information related to the development and implementation of the Multitudes platform. DIAs will pilot different practices and identify which ones are ineffective and which ones improve outcomes. If confronted with a difficulty, MDAs will find and evaluate alternatives and make recommendations for protocol and tool improvements. DIAs assist Research Coordinators and Project and Policy Analysts at California school sites, learning the policies of the school including classroom level engagement, assisting in collecting data as necessary, and assisting in analyzing schools’ curricula, rhythm and policies. The objectives of these engagements will be to analyze the schools’ compatibility for use of the Multitudes platform as well as the school community’s willingness to participate in Multitudes research and early implementation. The DIAs will support the schools in planning engagements and support Multitudes leadership and senior policy analysts in developing policies and protocols for the administration, management, and implementation of the Multitudes platform. DIAs will make observations, discretely reporting unexpected challenges while developing good will for Multitudes. They will consult with senior analysts and other stakeholders to support the development of evidence-based protocols.
