As a Vice President on the Commercial Banking Strategy team, you will support mission-critical projects ranging from developing growth strategies, to assessing and planning entry into new markets, to implementing organizational restructurings and operational efficiencies, and more. Projects are typically team-based and include close collaboration with the Commercial Banking Operating Committee and senior executives. Although the role will support the greater Commercial Bank Strategy team, there will be a focus on the industry-leading Commercial Real Estate lines of business.

Our team comes from top strategy consulting firms, investment banks, and leading undergraduate and graduate programs. The Head of Strategy is responsible for defining the overall strategic direction of the business, reports directly to the Commercial Banking CEO, and is a member of the Commercial Banking Operating Committee.

Commercial Banking is focused on helping our clients succeed and making a positive difference in our communities. We provide credit and financing, treasury and payment services, international banking and real estate services to our clients, which include corporations, municipalities, real estate investors and owners, and nonprofit organizations.

Job responsibilities:
  • Apply structured problem-solving and design thinking to address top strategic priorities
  • Develop innovation solutions to transform the business model and product offering
  • Independently own and steer project work streams and lead stakeholder interactions
  • Mentor and help direct work of junior team members
  • Engage in broader team efforts, including recruiting, staffing, and performance management
  • Broaden network and capabilities in an environment of active coaching and mentorship, in order to advance to other roles within the company if desired

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
  • 6+ years of experience in management consulting, internal consulting, or corporate strategy and 1+ years of management experience
  • Demonstrated experience with consulting toolkit / broad range of analytical tools and problem-solving approaches
  • Strong client management and executive-level communication skills
  • Track record of demonstrating a high level of personal initiative, setting and achieving challenging goals, and demonstrating entrepreneurial leadership
  • Bachelor's degree

Additional / Preferred Qualifications:
  • MBA or an advanced business degree from a top-tier program
  • Experience in financial services industry
  • Experience in commercial real estate, private equity, fintech and/or property tech space
  • Familiarity with the basics of loan origination, portfolio management and loan servicing processes, credit and risk fundamentals, sales activities, and marketing
  • Working knowledge of data principles and fundamentals, as well as software application design and integration
  • Experience in the banking industry, particularly bank lending and payments
  • Strong financial/business modeling and analysis skills
