Position Title: Child Care Worker
Position Status: Part Time
Department: Stepping Stones
The Child Care Worker is responsible for providing child care within the Stepping Stone House, and other services as deemed necessary by the Program Director.
Essential functions are duties, which are essential or primary to the position or the reason the position exists. An individual must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Maintains a safe and therapeutic environment for children by providing direct supervision to children on and off Stepping Stone House grounds.
- Teaches parenting and child care skills to parents.
- Plans recreational activities and outings for children; assists mothers in bonding process during play time.
Secondary functions are duties, which are not exclusive of the position, can be performed by other positions; however, secondary duties are to be performed for the efficiency of The Counseling Center, Inc.
- Assists Case Managers with services including, but not limited to, transportation and assistance with other community linkage, such as school activities and various appointments.
- Performs any other duties as assigned by the Program Coordinator/Director.
- Ability to interact well with children.
- Ability to work well with co-workers and clients in a pleasant manner.
- Knowledge about the disease of addiction.
- Ability to be organized, punctual, and work with minimal supervision.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Prior child care experience of at least one (1) year preferred and/or child care training.
- Must be age eighteen (18) or older.
- Must not have pled guilty to/been convicted of any offense in ORC109.572(c)(2)(a).
- Maintain CPR/First Aid treatment
