All new employees are paid according to their years of relevant education and experience above minimum requirements for the position. A City Service Worker for the City of Bozeman Cemetery Department performs a variety of duties for burial services including locating graves using plat maps and surveyor’s tape, strips sod, operating a backhoe to excavate graves, setting greens and lowering device, backfilling graves and replaces sod. The position includes a variety of grounds maintenance duties, including repairing sunken graves, irrigation of cemetery grounds, maintenance and repair of irrigation systems, mowing, plowing and sanding roads, snow removal at grave sites, herbicide application, and tree and bush pruning as necessary. The duties of this position are completed under general supervision, but a high level of individual judgment is pertinent.

Work Week: Full-time, 40 hours/week. Generally, Monday through Friday 7 AM- 3PM. Some weekend work for funerals.
