The Select Segment New Business Assistant is responsible for initiating the presale process in a timely and accurate manner, using documented Hub processes and procedures.
Role Summary:
The New Business Assistant is responsible for reviewing Request for Proposals (RFPs) and entering the opportunity in SalesForce.com. The New Business Assistant works closely with the New Business Manager (NBM), Brokers, Presale Team and internal matrix partners to ensure accurate and complete set-up of prospective clients for quoting purposes.
The ideal candidate is able to recognize this role’s importance in us “getting it right the first time.” As the first point of contact, attention to detail and ability to be organized while working in a fast paced environment would be key. The role does allow a pathway into the Presale Analyst role, allowing the ability to have career progression if skills aligns with the outlined expectations.
Role Components:
The New Business Assistant will be responsible for starting the presale process by:
- Establishing a SalesForce.com opportunity for each new business prospect.
- Maintaining accountability for the central mailbox and meet submission turnaround times.
- Ensuring accuracy of information and opportunities in Salesforce.com
- Ensuring timely assignment to Presale Consultant with a “cc” to the NBM
- Proactively communicating with internal and external customers to facilitate the RFP workflow.
- Communicating effectively with Brokers to fully understand their RFP needs as it relates to system entry
- Tracking opportunity assignments in Velocity
- Willingness to pilot new processes in order to remain efficient
- Developing and building relationship with matrix partners
- Supporting the Presale Consultant through the notification of cross quote opportunities/activity.
- Order requested RFP sales reports through Salesforce.com
- Strong analytical ability, with ability to design, track, and work toward specific measurable performance targets for self and team
- Proficiency with multiple software and system-based applications, including database and spreadsheets (Excel, tracking systems)
- Engage in career enhancing activities to improve personal development
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate's Degree or equivalent work experience may substitute in lieu of degree
- Strong written & verbal communication skills
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Detail oriented with exceptional follow-up skills
- Ability to work in a production-like, fast paced environment and adapt quickly to change
- Strong organization skills with the ability to work both independently and in a team environment; manage, prioritize and work on numerous projects at one time.
- Ability to consistently meet tight deadlines and work under pressure while anticipating the needs of the customer and/or business partner and understanding the consequences of actions.
- Strong computer based technical skills including Outlook, Excel and Word and internet/web navigation

If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.
For this position, we anticipate offering an hourly rate of 25 - 38 USD / hourly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.
This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.
