Position Description

The Site Auditor will obtain and communicate the necessary project information to the project manager for the preparation of permit ready documents needed for the installation of solar photovoltaic systems. The Site Auditor will be responsible for taking accurate measurements inside and outside of the client's properties. This includes but is not limited to taking pictures of necessary electrical panels, meters, documents, obstructions, and general property to upload immediately upon completion through tools provided.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Conduct a physical site audit using auditing tools including a tablet PC, measuring devices, Solmetric equipment, a digital camera, and other related equipment
• Structural: Access the underlying structure of the roof (attic, crawlspace, etc.) to assess and measure the existing environment
• Electrical: Access the main and sub-electrical panels to assess solar interconnection
• Shading: Access the roof to measure site shading and roof dimensions
• Document the project site with photos using a digital camera
• Upload site audit documents in a timely manner to the Design & Engineering departments so they can produce permit-ready documents
• Develop a positive relationship with customers to establish rapport and to gather site information as needed
• Fill out paper site auditing sheets and upload information and documents to Podio
• Gathers detailed structural data on multiple types of buildings
• Identifies issues on homes that may interfere with our installations
• Gathers all electrical data required by the company
• Additional duties required as needed

Qualifications

• Solar PV installation experience a plus
• Basic knowledge of residential electrical systems
• A minimum of 1 year experience in solar or related industry
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs
• Must be willing and able to climb ladders, stairs, and work on rooftops and in attics of multi-level buildings
• Ability to work in extreme environments (example: hot sun, cold weather, heat or cold in homes and attics)
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Must be able to travel to different offices if needed
• Provide and maintain a current driver's license and a clean driving record to safely operate a company vehicle
• Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen

Compensation

Effective rates are between $18 to $26 per hour depending on experience.
