Title: Assistant Teaching Professor, Medical Genetics
The University of Washington Department of Medicine has a new Master of Science in Genetic Counseling program with a mission to be an equitable and inclusive genetic counseling graduate program that provides innovative training of lifelong learners for a career in care, leadership, and science to meet the evolving needs of precision health.
The Director of Fieldwork Education would be a full-time appointment at the faculty rank of Assistant Teaching Professor (non-tenure eligible) in the Department of Medicine, Division of Medical Genetics. Assistant Teaching Professors are eligible for multi-year appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30). Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off. The University of Washington faculty engage in teaching and service. Anticipated start date would be October 1, 2023.
The base salary range for this position will be: $8,694 - $10,277 per month ($104,328 - $123,324 annually) commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination. The Director of Fieldwork Education is responsible for planning, developing, and monitoring the fieldwork (clinical and laboratory rotations) portion of the graduate program. Duties include:
