Job Description Summary

Computes, records and verifies numerical data for use in maintaining accounting records by performing the following duties.

Job Description

Accounts Receivable:

Daily: Process customer shipments from packing lists to invoices. Requires verification of accurate pricing, pack-list approval, generating invoices, and delivering of invoices to customers.

Daily: Record customer payments.

Accounts Payable:

Daily: Post incoming vendor invoices. Requires matching invoices with purchase orders and receiving documentation and verifying the accuracy of the invoice. Assure that invoices are properly approved and coded.

Weekly: Prepare accounts payable checks and supporting documentation for review.

Weekly/Monthly: Assist in tasks on AP review checklist, such as review of uninvoiced AP, open packlists, payment scheduling screen, and vendor statements, to ensure that AP function is kept current.

Bi-Monthly: Reconcile the corporate credit card statement and schedule for payment.

As Needed: Assist with various data collection efforts for financial closing and management reporting.

Education and Work Experience

Associate Degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school and a minimum of six months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Specialized Knowledge and Skills

Strong analytical and technical accounting skills are required as well as the ability to handle multiple priorities. Ability to work independently, attention to detail and excellent organizational and communication skills are essential.

Account reconciliation experience desired.


Equipment and Applications

Proficiency in using Microsoft Office products, especially spreadsheet development/use with Excel.

Work Environment and Physical Demand

General office environment. Moderate levels of stress may occur. No special physical demands required.
