Account Executive - Equipment Finance - Higher Education & K-12

Altius Search Group is searching for an Account Executive for one of our clients in the Equipment Finance Industry. This position will focus on providing equipment finance solutions in the Higher Education & K12 Industry. The successful individual will execute a focused sales strategy and territory business plan using Salesforce to effectively forecast and manage pipeline opportunities for K12 accounts.


Responsibilities of this position include:


  • Prospecting daily for new clients, targeting school district administrators
  • Maintain a scheduled calling program with clients and prospects to develop selling of EquipmentFinance
  • Identify and address areas of competition, as well as potential new markets in the assigned area that would maximize the volume and earnings of the direct corporate EF portfolio
  • Target calling efforts directed towards school districts to discuss their technology leasing program
  • Sell against all competition including banks, captives, and other independent leasing companies
  • Structure equipment transactions ranging from $500K to $5MM on average
  • Manage all financing opportunities in Salesforce.com, keeping personal pipeline current as to the stage of movement within the pipeline and keeping the file up-to-date on the next items to be completed
  • Visiting accounts and prospects
  • Coordinate with the marketing team to execute database marketing initiatives to generate new business opportunities
  • Identify and qualify equipment lease and finance transactions
  • Work with management to analyze, price, and structure transactions
  • Assist in managing the customer relationship from initial contact, transaction award, credit underwriting, and funding
  • Minimum of 5+ years successful track record in Equipment Finance Sales
  • Moderate proficiency with MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint or Salesforce.Com or other SFA software
  • Proficient with a financial calculator
  • Leasing structures: Op Lease, Capital Lease, FMV
  • Financial selling. Ability to generate $5MM in lease origination within the first year and $10MM in the second year is expected
  • A minimum of 5-7 years of experience
  • A Bachelor of Science Degree; or equivalent experience is required
  • Excellent understanding of the equipment finance marketplace
  • Ability to use the Loan Pricing Model in conjunction with knowledge of transaction pricing for equipment and vehicles as it pertains to providing and assisting with lease quotations and proposals
  • High energy with a strong desire to succeed in adverse situations
  • Strong written/oral communicator with excellent interpersonal skills
  • Possess an innovative, courageous approach to problem-solving and market analysis
  • Ability to travel as needed to build relationships
  • Strong track record of meeting or exceeding financial sales
