Position Summary (Purpose of job):

Responsible for leadership over our existing business and growth opportunities with key strategic accounts and targets in the payer and retailer space. This role will be responsible for very large, complex customers with needs over multiple segments within McKesson Medical Surgical (MMS). These customers will be in markets that have a major strategic impact to the success of MMS. Additionally, this role will be responsible for developing new customer relationships opportunistically as well as helping to set our strategy as we continue to evaluate opportunities with payers, retailers, and other emerging markets.

Key Responsibilities

Grow Existing
  • Responsible for setting the customer strategy to collaborate with the sales team support and growing our existing share within a set group of customers.
  • Leadership over all contracts, contract extensions, and RFP’s in direct collaboration with all applicable sales stakeholders within MMS.
  • Responsible for building impactful relationships and leading strategic negotiations with key customer stakeholders, which could and should include c-suite executives.
  • Drive the attainment of customer satisfaction indicators such as service level, Net Promoter Score (NPS), financial objectives (Revenue and Gross Profit growth), quality, reliability and alignment and attainment of customer goals.
  • Builds relationships with key leaders and influencers at all levels of the organization to drive the growth of all applicable MMS offerings
  • Leadership and cross functional collaboration with operations, materials management, sales administration, customers service, and all other applicable departments to deliver an exceptional customer experience.
  • Coordinate strategies and alignment across all McKesson business units, including PS&S to drive value across the enterprise.

Identify and win new business in key enterprise segments
  • Responsible for setting the strategy, identifying targets, and working opportunities through the sales pipeline to close new business opportunities.
  • Growth opportunities should come from within a target group of customers and expand to include strategic opportunities in areas MMS does not currently service
  • This role should help set and raise the bar of delivering an exceptional customer experience while driving a great culture of collaboration, innovation, inclusion, and execution internally.

Minimum Job Qualifications

Education/Training:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required; MBA preferred

Business Experience:
  • Minimum of 5 years of sales and/or business development experience in the healthcare distribution market

Specialized Knowledge/Skills:

Required:
  • Demonstrated track record of consultative selling ability at C-suite level.
  • Influential leader with strong networking skills.
  • Must have multiple examples of providing sales support to large, complex customers that integrate a variety of sales solutions.
  • Deep understanding and expertise in healthcare and healthcare distribution.
  • Experience in deal creation, including financial modeling to seek and gain leadership support through the segment president and/or CFO.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to prepare for and lead large and strategic negotiations.
  • Exceptional relationship building skills at all levels, both internally and externally.
  • Intersection Management - Ability to influence and gain support across the McKesson enterprise in order to execute long-term growth strategies.
  • Ability to lead and execute strategic plans, including aligning and galvanizing the right resources.
  • Outstanding communication, presentation and listening skills.
  • Strong analytical skills and exceptional business acumen.
  • Strong pipeline management skills demonstrating how strategies will result in quota attainment.

Preferred:
  • Ability to understand technology systems and customer connectivity platforms and articulate the value that they deliver to customers.
  • High level of computer proficiency using MS Office suite, salesforce, and other sales tools.
  • P&L experience to understand our financial drivers as well as articulate performance of your market.

  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record

  • Traditional home office environment plus frequent travel

As part of Total Rewards, we are proud to offer a competitive compensation package at McKesson. This is determined by several factors, including performance, experience and skills, equity, regular job market evaluations, and geographical markets. In addition to base pay, other compensation, such as an annual bonus or long-term incentive opportunities may be offered.

Our Total Target Cash (TTC) Pay Range for this position:
$142,000 - $236,600

Total Target Cash (TTC) is defined as base pay plus target incentive.
